A square asana for puja, made to give the prayer space a small piece of ceremony of its own. The rich rani pink cloth is finished on all four sides with a hand-crocheted scallop border in soft gold, and a round gold medallion is worked and stitched at the exact centre — the natural place to set a deity, a kalash, a diya or a puja thali. The border is crocheted directly onto the fabric edge so it lies flat and does not curl, and the mat folds small enough to keep inside a mandir cupboard or carry to a family function. Suitable as a seat for a small idol, a mandir base cloth, or a mat under the puja thali during aarti, Diwali, Navratri and wedding rituals.
